Abisko turiststation is the rail stop beside STF’s mountain lodge in the northern part of the national park. [1] [2]
STF gives a walk of about five minutes from the train to reception. Choose Abisko turiststation when travelling to the mountain lodge. [1]
Abisko Östra comes before the tourist stop on the railway from Kiruna. Beyond Östra the railway enters the national park. [2]
The railway from Kiruna to Narvik made Abisko easier to reach and helped the mountain lodge develop. Rallarvägen preserves a trace of the railway builders’ work. The national park was established in 1909; that date concerns the park, not the opening of the railway stop. [3]
