Vissefjärda’s train stop is beside the old station area and the historic shopping street Järnvägsgatan. [1] [2]
The present stop was built about 50 metres north of the former station building, which has been demolished. Kalmar länstrafik’s ticket machine is beside the car park next to the platform. [1] [2]
The station was established in 1874 on land donated by industrialist Th. A. Malmström from Södra Målatorp. In the early 1900s, shops, banks and a hotel gathered along Järnvägsgatan between the railway and the older church village. [1]
