Spångenäs is a small stop on the Hultsfred–Västervik narrow-gauge railway, with remains of an earlier railway junction. [1] [2]
Plan the journey with the Hultsfred–Västervik narrow-gauge railway. The stone ring of the turntable survives at Spångenäs, and the former railway staff house Mossekulla stands north of the stop; it is now a private home. [1] [2]
The station was built in 1905–1906 when the railway from Vimmerby joined here. It gained a locomotive shed, turntable and water tower for steam engines. The Vimmerby branch closed in 1958; Mossekulla is the surviving original railway building. [2]
