Spånga is the Mälarbanan interchange by Bromsten, with walking and cycling routes on both sides of the railway. [1] [2] [3] [4]
Trafikverket describes the opened walking and cycling tunnel between Bromstensvägen and Winquists väg. It provides a separate crossing beneath the railway; routes alongside the tracks towards the Bergslagsvägen bridge have also been rebuilt. [1]
Trafikverket states that commuter trains use the inner platform tracks while regional, long-distance and freight trains pass on the outer tracks. [2]
SL lists Spånga as an interchange between commuter trains and buses. The commuter branch continues via Jakobsberg towards Kungsängen and Bålsta. [3] [4]
The Spånga–Lövsta railway branched off here. Passenger trains to Hässelby ended in 1956 as the metro expanded, while refuse trains to Riddersvik continued until 1970. [5]
