Säter station stands beside Gruvplan, the area between the railway and the entrance to Säterdalen. [1]
The station has a new pedestrian and cycle underpass. The municipality has also completed its parking and toilet works. Gruvplan lies between the tracks and Säterdalen and is a useful landmark when visiting the valley. [1]
Säter’s hospital once had its own rail connection: a branch about three kilometres long linked the institution to the railway in Säter. The station’s role thus also extended to the town’s major hospital complex. [2]
