Ockelbo station reflects the meeting of the main line and the ironworks’ narrow-gauge railway. [1]
Ockelbo has had station buildings on different sides of the tracks. The original main station stood east of the railway, while the Dala–Ockelbo–Norrsundet Railway had its station on the west side. Follow today’s platform signs when travelling. [1]
Ockelbo station opened in 1876. The narrow-gauge Dala–Ockelbo–Norrsundet Railway added its station in 1895, connecting industrial transport to the main railway. The original main station building was destroyed by fire in 1976. [1]
