Håverud is the rail stop beside the Dalsland Canal aqueduct, on DVVJ's route between Mellerud and Bengtsfors. [1]
DVVJ operates summer services between Mellerud and Bengtsfors and describes combining the train with a canal boat. In 2026 the rail season ran from 8 June to 22 August; plan a new trip using the relevant season's operating dates. [1]
Dalsland Canal was built in 1864–1868. The railway through Håverud came later: Mellerud–Bengtsfors opened in 1927 as part of Dal–Västra Värmlands Järnväg, DVVJ. [2] [3]
