Hallstahammar lies on the railway towards Bergslagen, within walking distance of the Åsby Skantzen canal area. [1] [2]
The municipality's trail information places the area about 500–600 metres from the station. Skantzörundan uses asphalt and gravel walking and cycling paths, but has no dedicated trail markings and some sections lack winter maintenance. [1]
The railway leaves Mälarbanan at Kolbäck before reaching Hallstahammar and continuing towards Surahammar. The station building survives, although it no longer serves its original purpose. [2]
